Tiger Woods will be coming in to the U.S. Open after comeback win in the Memorial at Dublin, Ohio Sunday with a score of 65 that broke him out of a four-way tie.

Tiger quickly silence the skeptics before the two weeks that follow coming into the U.S. Open at Bethpage Black in New York.

So what can we expect from Tiger Woods coming off the Memorial win in Dublin, Ohio, and Mickelson playing for his first major after the tragic news of his wife’s cancer?

What about Sergio, the Big Easy, Rocco, Furyk, Jonathan Byrd, Davis Love III, Mark Wilson and many others who are on the top of their game. Tiger was playing with Michael Letzig, during his comeback and Michael said “It was some of the best golf I’ve ever seen.”

All of the professional golfers will be playing the U.S. Open with the Memorial in the back of their mind and to top it off, the memory of one of the greatest U.S. Open’s we’ve seen in my lifetime…The Tiger Woods Rocco Mediate playoff on Monday.

Only watching will tell us a fanatical golfer who has the mustard for our second favorite golf tournament the U.S. Open.

There was a lot of attendees for RE/MAX Long Drive Experience Tour and the winner in both categories on Sunday was a 334 yard drive from on of the Masters.

Some local St. George, Utah boys result were as follows: Karl Malin had a drive of 302, Robbie Pelton with a drive of 330 and Bob Pelton with a excellent drive of 298.

Just four yards and 1 mm was all Robbie needed to win a the prize of a driver from Callaway

The Long Drive began at 1:00pm and went to 4:00pm both days with prizes to the winner in the age groups of 0-45 years old and 45 and above.

The weather was great. It was about 98 degrees with wind at about 14 miles per hour with some gusts later in the day which probably made it harder for the last of the long drivers to match the winners drive earlier towards 1:00pm Sunday.

I know I look forward to this excellent event next year as well as playing in the 8th Annual Amateur Mesquite Golf Tournament.

The four-person scramble will cost $85 per player with lunch being served by Outback Steakhouse and their be a celebrity appearance by the former Oakland Raider quarterback Jay Schroeder.

The duel between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson did not disappoint.

With the supercharged front nine. Both Phil and Tiger look like they had a show of their own, compared to the current leaders two-some including Perry and Cabrera.

The Masters being the great stage that it is, always motivates amateur golfers more than any other golf tournament of the year.

St. George, Utah and Mesquite, Nevada being the golf mecca that it is, I would imagine there were many amateurs getting their fill of golf highlights.

Mesquite Nevada, hosting the big break, and golf Channel, naming Mesquite, Nevada and St. George, Utah. As one of the great golf vacation destinations in America. I think you’ll see many great amateurs practice, play and become pros from this area in the future.
