SUVA started their Club Volleyball over a decade ago to bring awareness to the sport of volleyball for local girls.

SUVA gives the local Washington County girls the place to practice their skill, refine them and showcase them for all the colleges looking for talent to recruit.

With the 16′s Power Club qualifying to go to the Jr. National Championships in Miami, it has exposed the girls to the highest heights achievable in today’s competitive Club Volleyball.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 16′S NATIONAL TEAM!!! THEY WENT BACK TO MIAMI FLORIDA TO COMPETE IN THE USA JR OLYMPIC GIRLS VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS JUNE 26TH – 29TH. THEY COMPETED WITH 48 OTHER TEAMS FROM ACROSS THE  UNITED STATES. THEY ENDED UP IN 35TH PLACE!

Foundation announces Kurt Johnson, CPA, as the chair for this year’s Jubilee cup charity golf tournament.

The four-person scramble will cost $85 per player with lunch being served by Outback Steakhouse and their be a celebrity appearance by the former Oakland Raider quarterback Jay Schroeder.

The Sand Hollow Golf Club is Southern Utah’s newest luxury golf destination. Featuring an 18-hole championship course and a uniquely designed 9-hole links course, Sand Hollow Golf Club provides golfers a variety of ways to enjoy the game. Developed by up-and-coming golf course architect John Fought, Sand Hollow Golf Club will serve as a sister course to the immensely-popular, Johnny Miller-designed Thanksgiving Point Golf Course located in Lehi, Utah.

The Las Vegas pro beach volleyball courts (40 beach courts) have an amateur tournaments all year long.

With the new upcoming beach and indoor volleyball courts (12 beach) and (12 indoors {estimate at the time}) at the Mesquite Amateur Sport Complex we will see volleyball soar even higher quite soon!

With the Huntsman World Senior Games, the St. George Marathon, golf, softball, football,tennis, rugby and the upcoming Ford Triathlon we will still see an economic continuation, even with the current economic conditions.

In the Washington County area alone we saw a 30% increase in 2008 from the 2007 numbers.

It has been projected that the terrorism from sports will see a decrease in the first quarter, as far as the numbers show from bookings of hotel rooms.

In the Mesquite area, we are still seeing similar numbers and we should see those pickup as the Mesquite Amateur Sports Center continues to come online.

The Southern Utah and Nevada deserts have become a very popular destination for international terrorism. With a lot of that terrorism been amateur sports-based.

I hope to see this as a new opportunity for us to continue the tradition of growth, expansion and acceptance of sports.
